Inspired by tide lines and a certain oyster bar, the Eventide Brief is the exhibitionist French Cut undie sewing pattern you've been looking for. They feature a lovely high waist with a super soft shaped waistband, a medium coverage back, and a full coverage front. We've fit the tummy through all twelve sizes to make sure it grows with you and keeps you covered and comfortable, even with hips scooped out like the lowest tide, revealing untold treasures!

Like the sea, the Eventide Brief Base can be a thousand things - check back regularly to see what mod packs we're working on! Ideas include various undie hips, boxer legs, pouch front and waistline mods, a packing boxer front, period panty gussets, flutter shorts, honestly our ideas are endless. 

This garment can be entirely constructed with a sewing machine, serger optional. Techniques required include pinning + sewing curves, and working with stretch fabric and elastic.

You may not sell garments made using this pattern.  

Material Recommendations

SUGGESTED FABRICS For the main body, knit fabrics with 50-75% stretch, preferably with a 3-5% Spandex or Lycra content. Bamboo, Rayon, or blends with Cotton, Silk, Spandex, Nylon, Tencel. 100% cotton tends to stretch out quickly. For side panels and waist, consider a stretch mesh or material with a higher Spandex content for security. Measure stretch by marking out 4” of fabric, then gently stretch to max.

If you've ever become long term friends with a particular bit of beach, you're familiar with the dynamic tides, changing with the moon, the seasons, the weather! Just like your treasured shoreline, you probably have a favorite tideline that fits you just right.

We've fit the tummy through all twelve sizes to make sure it grows with you and keeps you covered, even with hips like the lowest of low tides, when the water pulls back and you get to explore ocean floor for miles! (Your hips are the secret treasure in this analogy)

The Eventide Briefs are high waist, medium coverage undies. The waist is finished with a soft waistband, and a beautifully curved side panel eliminates side seams and hugs your body with a secure fit. The center seams include darts to enable cozy tummy coverage while the high cut leg shows off your hips.

Double the Waist and Hip Measurements in your intended size, mark that length along your fabric, and hold around your body to check the stretch.

As someone who frequently extends gusset pieces further towards the front, I absolutely love where the gusset sits on the Hadal. I feel fully covered and it doesn't shift throughout the day.
