Inspired by tide lines and a certain oyster bar, the Eventide Boxer Brief is the mega compilation undie sewing pattern you've been looking for. Like the sea, leg options abound, ranging from super high French Cut, a classic High Cut, my favorite Hiphugger Brief, and on through an impressive four boxer options. To combat chafing, we've eliminated all side seams, both on the hips and inner and outer thighs- you can even line the inner thighs if you like! Front pouch mod: forthcoming. Period Boxers? Hell yes. 

This garment can be entirely constructed with a sewing machine, serger optional. Techniques required include pinning + sewing curves, and working with stretch fabric and elastic. 

You may not sell garments made using this pattern.  

Material Recommendations

SUGGESTED FABRICS For the main body, knit fabrics with 50-75% stretch, preferably with a 3-5% Spandex or Lycra content. Bamboo, Rayon, or blends with Cotton, Silk, Spandex, Nylon, Tencel. 100% cotton tends to stretch out quickly. For side panels and waist, consider a stretch mesh or material with a higher Spandex content for security. Measure stretch by marking out 4” of fabric, then gently stretch to max.

Lydia's bust is 51", underbust is 40", waist is 42". She is wearing a 3X with no modifications.

The Eventide Boxer Briefs are high waist, medium coverage undies. The waist is finished with a soft waistband, and a beautifully curved side panel eliminates side seams and hugs your body with a secure fit. Leg lengths range from high cut to full bike shorts with seven total options. The four boxer options include a seamless, lined inner thigh to help prevent chafing.

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS

Use these finished measurements to check what size to make in your desired fabric!

Double the Waist and Hip Measurements in your intended size, mark that length along your fabric, and hold around your body to check the stretch.

Mark the Front and Back lengths, and hold against your High Point Shoulder to check the vertical stretch.

As someone who frequently extends gusset pieces further towards the front, I absolutely love where the gusset sits on the Hadal. I feel fully covered and it doesn't shift throughout the day. The simple view is so easy, and the ocean view is stunning with sheer or color contrast panels. This pattern does! not! miss!!
